Charity Nominations

To nominate a charity, you must be an active 100 Teens Who Care Lakeland registered member.
Nominations must be received 3 weeks in advance of the meeting to be approved by the Teen Executive Board.
Nominations will be randomly selected 2 weeks before the meeting.
The three nominators selected will be notified 2 weeks before the meeting via phone call and/or email and will be asked to prepare a 1-2 minute "pitch" presentation for the upcoming meeting.
Chosen nominators must submit an outline of their presentation and a copy of the Charity Information form 1 week prior to the meeting to 100teenslakeland@gmail.com.
Presenters are invited to a "script read through" the day before the quarterly meeting to practice their speeches.
Presenters can opt to have an Executive Teen Board member present their speech at the quarterly meeting.

Any charity or not-for-profit group must be a registered 501(c)3 organization.
All charitable groups must be established for at least one year and serve the Lakeland community.
No national or international charities will be considered, as our aim is to keep our donations local; exceptions include if the organization has a local chapter and proceeds will benefit the local community.
Generally schools and churches will not be considered, as our goal is to reach out to community organizations.
A charity may submit its own Charity Information form, however, it must be nominated by a registered member of 100 Teens Who Care Lakeland to be considered for a donation.
An organization that receives the group donation may be considered again after a 2-year period.
Organizations that were presented but not selected for the donation will be allowed to be presented again at the next quarterly meeting if nominated again.

The following information should be included in each 1-2 minute presentation:

Utilize a copy of the Charity Information form during your presentation. We will give you a packet to help get you started.
The best presentations are ones that include the reasons why you selected your charity -- why is the charity important to you or how are you connected to it?
Remember to look at your audience and smile!
