The founding members of 100 Teens Who Care Lakeland are very excited to announce the kick off of their organization on Monday, April 16, 2018. Six students from various Lakeland area high schools have come together to create an organization that gives them and their peers the opportunity to directly impact the needs of the Polk County community. Membership of 100 Teens Who Care Lakeland will be comprised of 100+ 6th-12th grade students interested in learning about the needs of local charities and having the power to directly impact those charities with a monetary donation.
Teen members will build a philanthropic mindset and learn leadership skills in a fun environment. Members will take an active role in the needs of the Lakeland community by researching non-profit charities and presenting the needs of those charities to the group. The presenting teen will act as a "champion" for the charity. Members will learn how their donation impacted the specific charity when the awarded charity is invited to the next meeting.
Teen members will benefit from
Charities may contact 100 Teens Who Care Lakeland if they have needs other than monetary ones, such as help is needed with service projects or at fundraising events. 100 Teens Who Care Lakeland will communicate service opportunities to its members once the need is approved by our Teen Executive Board.
Charities may submit a Charity Information Form to the Teen Executive Board to be approved for a nomination. Please note that in order for the organization to be considered for a vote, it must have a member nominate the organization as well. However, we would love to include as many local organizations as possible, so we will work with teens to promote new organizations to be sponsored.
Please download this form if you are an employee of a Polk County non-profit and you would like your organization to be considered for a nomination by one of our teens. You may resubmit the form to 100teenslakeland@gmail.com.
